Jehmu Green to be President of Women's Media Center

Jehmu Green, a political consultant and commentator, was named the new president of the Women's Media Center (WMC) yesterday. Founded in 2005 by Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, and Robin Morgan, the WMC promotes the visibility of women in media.

According to the Women's Media Center, Greene has worked on over 20 political campaigns, served as an advisor to Hilary Clinton's presidential campaign, and led Rock the Vote. Greene is a frequent guest on television programs including the Daily Show, O'Reilly Factor, Anderson Cooper 360, MTV News, CBS Evening News, and ABC World News, according to the Huffington Post.

Current President Carol Jenkins said of the transition, "the WMC is extraordinarily fortunate to have this gifted young woman as our next leader. I am a long-time admirer of Jehmu's incredible work--so I can watch with pride, pleasure and confidence as the organization grows exponentially. The fact that she's one of our own makes it perfect." Jenkins is moving on to work on women and girls' health issues in the US and developing countries.

"My new gig is Prez of @womensmediacntr! I'll be working to make women more visible and powerful in the media with @janefonda and @heartfeldt," Jenkins announced on her
Twitter feed.
