Moslem Fundamentalist Group Threatens U.S.
London-based Arab newspaper al-Hayat published a statement issued by the Moslem fundamentalist group al-Jihad. The statement identified the U.S. as "Islam's biggest enemy" and threatened that its "Islamic nation has many weapons in its possession to confront Israel and the United States and their agents."
The statement also urged Moslems to cut ties with U.S. businesses and U.S. embassy staff, and to boycott U.S. goods.
Al-Jihad leader Ayman al-Zawahiri lives in Afghanistan is closely tied to Osama bin Laden, a millionaire Saudi dissident suspected in numerous terrorist attacks on the U.S., including the August attacks on U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
