As a feminist activist working on this issue, this type of callous attitude never ceases to amaze me. The situation for women in Guatemala is not any better than in Juarez. More than 600 women were killed there in 2005 with not one case being solved. (See the BBC Documentary "Killer's Paradise".) Numbers aside, (men are affected by this violence too), the sexualized and brutal manner in which female victims are murdered is the most salient point. As many of us who can raise our voices on this issue must do so. Thanks for reporting on this! Shameful.
