Dear Miss Clavell

Dear Miss Clavell,

Would you rescue me
Were I in hell?

Would you chase the tiger in the zoo
Were I too afraid to whisper “poo poo?”

Would you hug me
All the time?

Would you love me
As much as Madeline?

And if I was of solemn face
That George Bush won the presidential race,
Would you smile and say
That’s ok
He’ll get eaten by crocodiles one day?

That’s all there is
There isn’t more to tell
Except
God Bless America, Miss Clavell.
